Government Forces target opposition fortifications northwest Syria

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Syrian government forces shelled the armed opposition groups’ fortifications in the northern countryside of Lattakia, west Syria, on Monday.

An opposition military source told North Press that the government forces bombed opposition groups’ gatherings on the Kabanah Hills in the Kurd Mountains area in the northern countryside of Latakia, with artillery shells and rockets.

The government missile strikes hit the fortifications of the opposition groups in the town of Ziyara in Ghab Plain area in the western countryside of Hama, and Fatira in the south of Idlib, while no casualties reported.

The shelling coincided with intensive drone and warplane flight.

The Russian-Turkish signed agreement in 2017 and its additional protocol in March 2020 provide for a halt to the military actions in the governorate of Idlib and its surroundings.
