Turkey brings new military reinforcements to Syria’s northwest

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish forces brought new military reinforcements to the Syrian territories on Monday, within the framework of empowering their posts in the de-escalation zone, northwest Syria.  

A Turkish military convoy entered through Kafr Lossin border crossing and headed towards Syrian territories, a field source told North Press.  

The Turkish convoy consisted of 20 vehicles loading armored vehicles, artillery, logistical equipment and guard cabins, where they headed towards Turkish posts in Zawiya Mountain, in the southern countryside of Idlib.  

On February 6, the Turkish troops sent military reinforcements consisted of 20 vehicles loading military and logistical equipment towards their posts in the de-escalation zone, south Idlib.  

The Russian-Turkish signed agreement in 2017 and its additional protocol in March 2020 provide for a halt to the military actions in the governorate of Idlib and its surroundings.

Since the Turkish military intervention in Syria it constructed more than 60 military bases and posts in each of Idlib, Hama, Aleppo and Latakia northwest the country.
