Syria’s Palestinian refugee disappears in mysterious circumstance in Turkey
ISTANBUL, Turkey (North Press) – A Syria’s Palestinian refugee disappeared in the city of Izmir, Turkey, two weeks ago, without any details about his fate, sources that care about Syrian refugees in Turkey said on Saturday.
The sources added that the family of the victim Muhammad Diyab Ali lost connection with him after he went out to travel from Izmir to Istanbul, two weeks ago.
The family appealed many Palestinian institutes for human rights to interfere to reach Muhammad because they do not know anything about him.
Syria’s Palestinian refugees face many difficult living and economic conditions in light of not gaining official documents to be able to get into hospitals and medical centers to have medical care.
This comes amid tightening procedures by the Turkish government without knowing the reasons.
Sources care about Palestinian refugees, estimated the numbers of the Palestinian refugees, who hold Syrian documents, about 10,000 refugees.
About 2,400 Syria’s Palestinian families suffer from difficult legal and living situation, according to Action Group for Palestinians of Syria, a London-based human rights watchdog that monitors the situation of Palestinian refugees in Syria.
According to the organization, about 400 families do not have the Turkish temporary card(Kimlik) which means they are deprived from work, care and education.
The refugees are spread in many cities such as Istanbul, Gaziantep, Kilis, Hatay and Mersin.
The Syria’s Palestinian refugees lack any kind of international protection although they are registered in the United Nation Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
While the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) does not offer any services to the Palestinian-Syrian refugees on the pretext that the UNRWA are responsible for them.
Many Palestinian refugees were detained in Istanbul airport and prevented from entering the Turkish lands without any obvious reasons for that.
