Opposition groups bombards government forces in northwestern Syria

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, armed opposition groups bombed sites of the Syrian government forces in Idlib, northwestern Syria.

Opposition military sources told North Press that Ansar al-Tawhid targeted government military sites in al-Dar al-Kabira village, south Idlib, with heavy artillery and rockets.

The targeting came in response to the repeated violations by government forces in Zawiya Mountain south of Idlib, and Ghab Plain, west of Hama Governorate.

The frontlines in the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria have recently witnessed military escalation between Syrian government forces and the armed groups operating in the region as part of the mutual bombardment between the two parties.

On Friday morning seven militants of the Turkistan Islamic Party – Syria were killed, and eight were wounded in the government forces targeting of an opposition bus in the village of Khirbat al-Naqus in Ghab Plain with a guided missile.

On Friday, the Syrian government forces bombarded towns and villages of Barra and Kansafra in Zawiya Mountain south of Idlib

The Russian-Turkish signed agreement in 2017 and its additional protocol in March 2020 provide for a halt to the military actions in the governorate of Idlib and its surroundings.
