SDF campaign to seize motorcycles in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor countryside
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a campaign on Wednesday to seize motorcycles in the city of Sheheil, 40 km east of Deir ez-Zor, after frequent assassinations by unknown persons.
“The SDF set up checkpoints at the entrances to the city at which they seized motorcycles,” a local source from Sheheil told North Press.
The SDF launched the campaign after a series of assassinations carried out by unknown persons riding on motorcycles, according to the source.
Today, a civilian was shot dead by unknown persons riding a motorbike, in the town of Hawaij Thiban.
On December 28, 2020, a person was injured as a result of shooting by unidentified persons on motorcycles in a town east of Deir ez-Zor.
A military source in the region said that Abdul Jalil Hamad was taken to a medical point in serious condition.
Recently, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has witnessed an increase in the activities of Islamic State (ISIS) agents, leading the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Global Coalition to increase the pace of their security operations.
