Suicide bombing kills civilian, wound others in Syria’s Tel Abyad
TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – A person was killed and four were wounded in a suicide bombing in the city of Tel Abyad (Gire Spi), north of Raqqa, on Tuesday.
The city of Tel Abyad is witnessing security chaos amid the inability of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups to stable security there.
A suicide bomber detonated his explosives amid a group of residents near the municipal roundabout in the city, killing a civilian and wounding four others, some critically, a special source told North Press.
On January 7, a commander in the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) was killed at his home in the city of Tel Abyad by unknown persons.
Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups took control of the city of Tel Abyad after launching a military operation on October 9, 2019.
