Assayish casualty, wounded in Hawl Camp in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) was killed and other was wounded after the security forces stormed the third section in Hawl Camp, east Hasakah, Friday.

Unknown people fired at the Asayish after they stormed the third section in the camp searching for the those who killed the head of the Syrian council, a military source told North Press.

The storming operation followed the shooting of the head of the Syrian council Hamad Saleh Hadid (Abu Ahmad Shamari) in the head and injury of his son Abdulrhman Omar in the back on Friday.

After Hadid and his son exited a mosque in the fourth section in the camp unknown people fired at them, an administrative source at Hawl Camp told North Press.

During the first week of 2021, Hawl Camp has witnessed the largest weekly toll of 12 killing incidents including Syrian and Iraqi refugees.

“Accusations are directed to the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) sleeper cells of being behind those crimes,” Hawl Camp administrator Hamrin Khalaf told North Press.
