Iraqi refugee shot to death in Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) found the body of a young Iraqi refugee in the third (Iraqi) sector of the camp.

A medical source from the Kurdish Red Crescent told North Press that the refugee was a 17-year-old girl, but her identity has not yet been determined.

According to the source, the girl died instantly after being shot seven times in various areas of her body by unknown individuals.

The Asayish have begun an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident, amid rumors and accusations that the Islamic State (ISIS) is responsible.

Last year, Hawl Camp witnessed several cases of murders of Iraqi refugees with silenced pistols.

Hawl Camp is home to over 60,000 displaced persons, including about 40,000 people from ISIS families.
