Government forces bomb opposition sites in Syria’s Hama

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Syrian government forces renewed their bombing of sites of the armed opposition groups in the western countryside of Hama, northwestern Syria.

The de-escalation zone is witnessing military escalation and mutual bombing between Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups.

A field source told North Press that government forces bombed the fortifications of the armed groups in the villages and towns of Qalidin and al-Zaqum in the western countryside of Hama with artillery shells and missiles.

The government bombing was accompanied by the flight of reconnaissance aircraft in the region.

The source added that the government bombed the villages of Bara, Kasfara, and Fateira in the southern Idlib countryside on Wednesday night.

The government bombing left widespread destruction of public and private property, without any information about civilian and military casualties, according to the source.

A military source, who declined to be named, told North Press Wednesday that the agreement signed between Moscow and Ankara regarding the de-escalation zone “is close to collapse.”
