SDF and Global Coalition raid ISIS cell in Syria’s Shaddadi
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday night, the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) special security units raided ISIS cells in the eastern countryside of Shaddadi, arresting three suspected ISIS members.
A source told North Press that the SDF, with air support provided by the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, conducted an operation in the town of Busaira, east of Shaddadi near the Iraqi border, which resulted in three arrests. Weapons, technical equipment, and documents in the individuals’ possession were confiscated.
Also on Sunday, the SDF carried out a raid on an ISIS cell in the southern countryside of Hasakah, arresting three individuals and confiscating light weapons and documents.
During a symposium held in Deir ez-Zor on Thursday, members of the Global Coalition stressed their continued support of the SDF for counterterrorism operations.
