Syria’s Autonomous Administration call for UN to stop Turkish violations on Ain Issa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Humanitarian Office of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) called on the United Nations and the international community to stop the continued Turkish violations and its “mercenaries” from targeting the civilians.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Humanitarian Office said that all humanitarian organizations have to hold their responsibilities and respond the “emergency” humanitarian needs of the civilians and IDPs amid the inability of the camps to receive more IDPs.

The statement added that the continued aggression against the civilians generated a state of instability in the region and an exacerbation of the humanitarian condition which led to huge waves of displacement.

The Office considered that the continued Turkish offensives against northeast regions of Syria are “blatant violation for a safe land.”

The IDPs in northeastern Syria’s camps fear from a new wave of displacement this winter.

The town of Ain Issa, north Raqqa, has been witnessing a Turkish shelling for a few days, as clashes renewed on Saturday, on the eastern outskirts of the town.

The Turkish and opposition groups’ military operation against the two regions of Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad in October 2019, caused the displacement of 300,000 people, according to the statistics of the Autonomous Administration.

It is worth noting that Turkey separately signed a ceasefire agreement with both the US and Russia in October 2019, but Ain Issa is still being shelled and targeted.
