SDF arrests ISIS leaders in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR (North Press) – The Special Forces (Commandos) of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested on Friday, eight leaders of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in the town of Tayyana, east Deir ez-Zor.  

During a security operation, the SDF Special Forces arrested the leaders while they were hiding in their houses, a military source told North Press on Saturday.  

Muhammad Muhsen Sattam, who was called al-Atrash, the assistant official of assassinations, was among the arrested in addition to the Prince of Zakat, who was called Abu Qa’qa’ al-Qurashi who hid in the town of Sheheil, east Deir ez-Zor, the source added.

Abu Qa’qa’ is from the town of Tayyana and a relative of al-Atrash, according to the source. 

The SDF continues storming and arresting campaigns east Deir ez-Zor, during which Abu Bara’ al-Qazbir, an ISIS prominent figure, was killed during an operation north Deir ez-Zor last week. 

The SDF Special Forces undergo intensive training by the US Special Forces and the CIA.
