Casualties, wounded in VBIED explosion in Syria’s Sere Kaniye
SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – Two militants of the Turkish-backed opposition groups were killed and others were wounded in a VBIED explosion in the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), north of Syria’s Hasakah, on Thursday.
In November, a VBIED explosion took place in Sere Kaniye, killing three militants of the Turkish-backed opposition groups and wounding others.
The latest explosion took place near a military checkpoint in the southern neighborhood, killing two militants and wounding others, according to local sources.
The city of Sere Kaniye has been occupied by Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups since the Turkish invasion of northeastern Syria in October 2019.
Syrian opposition-held areas have been witnessing a state of security chaos, accompanied by frequent bombings, kidnappings of civilians, and internal fighting, according to media and human rights reports.
