Russian-Turkish joint patrol in Syria’s north Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – The Russian military police conducted on Thursday a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the eastern countryside of Syria’s city of Kobani.

The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles set out from the village of Gharib in the eastern countryside of Kobani and roamed in several villages to return to its starting point.

The Turkish armored vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near the village of Gharib, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near al-Iza’a region, west of Kobani. 

On December 3, the Russian military police conducted the 35th Russian-Turkish joint patrol in the western countryside of Syria’s city of Kobani.  

This is the 36th joint patrol between the two forces since the agreement between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that included conducting joint patrols in northeastern Syria at a depth of 10 km, except for the city of Qamishli.
