Dead and injured in familial disputes in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Three people were killed and seven others were injured, including women, on Wednesday afternoon as a result of a fight between two tribes in the Aziziyah neighborhood of Hasakah city.
A North Press correspondent in Hasakah stated that the dispute was related to a quarrel between children in the Aziziyah neighborhood, north of Hasakah, which developed into a dispute between their families, in which a person was injured as a result of being stabbed with a sharp object.
He added that the intervention of tribal notables contributed to controlling the dispute in the beginning, but later it developed into shooting and the use of hand grenades, which killed Na’im and Muhammad al-Madlul as well as Mahmoud al-Hamid.
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commander Bashir Issa told North Press that their intervention aimed to stop bloodshed, and they spread out over the Khabur River banks to prevent the problem developing into a wider tribal dispute.
The clashes also resulted in the injury of several people, including Hamid al-Aboud. A woman and a girl were also injured.
The neighborhood witnessed the deployment of Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and a group of the SDF in an attempt to impose security and restore calm to the city.
