Raqqa’s municipality expands Hajin-Baghouz road in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Withthe support of Raqqa’s municipal vehicles, the People’s Municipality of Hajin has been carrying out expansion works on the Hajin-Baghouz road.

Hatimi Waha, co-chair of the People’s Municipality of Hajin, said that they received a number of vehicles from Raqqa’s Municipality on September 22 in order to help them with expansion works on the 40 kilometer Hajin-Bagouz road.

“The reasons for the delay in expanding and improving the route are due to the maintenance work, including sanitation and water pipes,” Waha told North Press.

Within a week the project will be finished in Hajin city, and will move to the town of Ashsha’fah to Baghouz, he pointed out.

Waha did not determine a deadline for the whole project, saying that it was due to the onset of winter in addition to the malfunctions in the vehicles.

The People’s Municipality in Hajin expanded the road five meters on each side, making it 24 meters.

The owners of stalls on the road said that the expansion operation would decrease the traffic accidents that used to happen in the past.
