Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Head killed near Syrian-Iraqi borders

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Officials of the Iraqi armed local groups said on Monday that a commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRG)was killed near Syrian-Iraqi borders in an airstrike on Saturday evening.

The officials did not identify the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard rather they stated that he was killed along with three other men who accompanied him in the same car.

Iraqi officials said that the car was loaded with weapons to cross the Syrian-Iraqi border and was targeted after it travelled into the Syrian territories.

Iranian-backed Iraqi armed groups managed to recover the bodies; however, no details or date of the incident were mentioned, the officials added.

Israel launched air strikes on Syrian and Iranian targets in Syria last week, and indicated that it would continue its policy of striking Iranian targets in Syria.
