Deir ez-Zor Civil Council to impose complete lockdown in Syria’s Hajin

HAJIN, Syria (North Press) – Deir ez-Zor Civil Council decided on Monday to a ten-day complete lockdown in the city of Hajin eastern Syria’s Deir ez-Zor starting on the next Saturday.

The decision came after recording two deaths that were infected with coronavirus in Hajin.

The decision was based on a proposal by the Health Committee in Hajin due to the increasing toll of infections, Deir ez-Zor Civil Council stated on its official Facebook account.

The decision included all institutions of the Civil Administration except for the pharmacies and bakeries, according to Council.

Maryam Awad, co-chair of the Health Committee in Hajin, told North Press that the complete lockdown decision was issued after recording two deaths during the past two days and the number of infections exceeded ten

Meanwhile, the infected people with coronavirus are transferred from eastern Deir ez-Zor towards Ma’amel area north the city then to be transferred to Hasakah and Raqqa, according to Awad.

The taken swabs are transferred to Kasrat in the west countryside then to Raqqa to confirm the results whether positive or negative.

According to the new the statistics on new cases of coronavirus in the Autonomous Administration regions, the number of infections has risen to 7,031, of which 195 died and 1,032 recovered.
