New assassination of pro-Syrian government leader in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A leader of a group affiliated with the Fourth Division was assassinated by an armed group on Saturday, at the entrance of al-Shajarah town on the road of Saham western Syria’s Daraa.
Daraa Governorate witnessed many assassinations of civilian activists, leaders of former opposition groups and other members of government forces since the beginning of November.
An informed source told North Press that the dead man was called Ahmed Hamsho, who was the commander of the Abu Kinan al-Qaseer group affiliated with the Fourth Division of the government forces.
Hamsho was from Quneitra governorate, where he was traveling on his motorbike to one of the division’s checkpoints when he was targeted by the gunmen.
Four members of the government military and security forces were killed by unknown persons in three separate incidents in the countryside of Daraa Governorate, southern Syria, on November 16.
Members of the Fourth Division raided a camp in the eastern plains of Hauran on November 14, and uprooted the tents and stole them under the pretext that their residents are allying the local armed groups.
In addition, the Syrian government accuses some people of inciting the assassination of government military figures and leaders in the southern region of Syria.
The local community expressed its fear of the continuation of the assassination scenario, which has become repeated in almost daily incidents in Daraa Governorate.
The Syrian government forces recently pushed more military reinforcements to the Daraa Governorate in southern Syria, coinciding with the increase in the rate of reprisals.
