IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish forces conducted on Wednesday, a single military patrol on M4 Highway, southern Idlib amid broad alert among the Turkish soldiers.
The Turkish patrol set out from the village of Trenbah, near the city of Saraqib, eastern Idlib, a source of the National Front for Liberation, told North Press.
The source added that the patrol consisted of ten military vehicles that headed towards Ain Hour region, northern Lattakia.
Before patrolling, the Turkish forces deployed dozens of soldiers and cut ways and subways that lead to M4 Highway in avoidance of any event, according to the source.
Several hours earlier, unexplained explosion took place that caused huge damage to the Nahel bridge, known as Khashab bridge on M4 Highway near the town of Mehambel, southern Idlib.
Since July, the area has been witnessing military escalation after a Russian-Turkish patrol was targeted near Meseibin town, southern Idlib which resulted in the injury of three Russian soldiers.
Idlib, and parts of Hama, Aleppo and Lattakia countryside have been subjected to an agreement between Russian and Turkey to stop military operations in the area.
