Turkish forces to dismantle fourth observation point in Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Turkish forces began to dismantle their military post in the al-Rashideen neighborhood, west of Syria’s Aleppo.
A local source told North Press that since Tuesday morning, the Turkish forces began to dismantle their outpost in al-Rashideen neighborhood, which has been surrounded by the Syrian government forces since the beginning of this year.
The source added that the Turkish army pushed a convoy of 30 vehicles to supervise the evacuation of the post, and withdrew it to the outskirt of the city of Atarib in the western countryside of Aleppo.
This coincides with the start of the Turkish forces’ redeployment in northwestern Syria. Al-Rashideen base is the fourth military base from which the Turkish forces withdraw in the countryside of Aleppo, after the Qubtan al-Jabal, Anadan, Sheikh Aqil points north of Aleppo.
Since its military intervention in Syria, Turkey has established more than 60 military points and bases in the governorates of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia in the northwest of the country.
In October 2017, Turkey began establishing military points in northwestern Syria after it reached an agreement with Russia to establish a de-escalation zone.
