HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Internal Security Forces (Asayish) found on Saturday, the body of a displaced person from Deir ez-Zor countryside in Hawl Camp, east of Syria’s Hasakah.
A security source of Hawl Camp told North Press that unidentified persons intentionally killed a displaced person called Jumah al-Kasser, who was from the city of Bukamal in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The source added that the victim was working as a guard for one of the relief organizations operating in the camp, and he was killed with a pistol by unidentified persons while he was on duty.
After the incident, the camp witnessed a security alert searching for those involved, according to the source.
The camp has recently witnessed an escalation in killing and violence. Accusations are directed towards loyalists of the Islamic State (ISIS) to stand behind that.
Suleiman Muhammad al-Hammadi, head of the Iraqi Refugee Council, was killed in front of his tent in the First Sector, after being shot by unidentified people.
Last September, the camp recorded eleven attempted murder, most of them targeted displaced Iraqis within the camp, two of them were killed, according to the camp administration.
