Crisis Cell imposes total lockdown on cities of Hasakah, Qamishli, Tabqah and Raqqa
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Crisis Cell in the Executive Council of Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES) approved, on Saturday, the imposition of a total lockdown for a period of 10 days in the cities of Hasakah, Qamishli, Tabqah and Raqqa, starting on November 26, to December 5.
The cell based the lockdown decision on the assessment of the Health Board and the increasing number of deaths as a result of the widespread of coronavirus in the cities and villages of the region.
The lockdown includes a total closure of public facilities, places of worship, commercial and industrial stores, schools, universities and kindergartens. Stopping the movement of departure and arrival buses to and from AANES, while maintaining trade exchange at the crossings.
The lockdown includes suspending work in all AANES institutions with the exception of service departments, and within a limited number.
All hospitals and bakeries are excluded, and a schedule of pharmacies on duty will be organized by the health board and committees and the Pharmacists’ Union.
The movement of farmers will be facilitated, and the fuel will be distributed to residents of included areas.
The resolution to impose a total lockdown comes about ten days after the imposition of a total lockdown on the Euphrates region, and after a total lockdown on the city of Dirk two weeks ago.
