Internal Security Forces (Asayish) raids headquarters of gang in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Internal Security Forces (Asayish) arrested on Thursday, a member of a gang practicing kidnapping and militarism in the town of Abu Hamam in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
A source from Internal Security Forces (Asayish) told North Press that the raid on the gang’s headquarters resulted in the release of a car dealer from Daraa Governorate who had been kidnapped a few days ago by the gang.
He added that the gang had demanded the merchant’s family for a ransom of $ 20,000 in exchange for his release.
The source indicated that the accused who was arrested confessed that three other persons had participated with him in engaging in robbery, rifling, kidnapping and extortion.
The source said that the Internal Security Forces will reveal the entirety of the gang’s operations and thefts that they carried out at a later time.
He added that the raid on the gang’s headquarters resulted in the seizure of videos of torture of kidnappers by hideous means that the gang members had filmed in previous periods.
