Syria’s Autonomous Administration records five coronavirus deaths, 111 new infections

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 111 new coronavirus infections and five deaths in its areas on Monday.  

The official AANES Facebook account quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths were two men from Hasakah, two from Manbij, and one from Derbasiya. He added that the new recorded infections were 56 males and 55 women.

In the Jazira region, the recorded infections were 15 in Qamishli, 14 in Hasakah, 12 in Derik, two in Girke Lege, one in Amuda, one in Derbasiya and one in Tirbespi.

In the Euphrates region, there were 21 recorded cases in Tabqa, 14 in Kobani, and 13 in Raqqa. There were also six cases in Manbij and 11 cases in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where those displaced from Afrin by the Turkish invasion in 2018 reside.

The recovery of 19 cases were also recorded, according to Mustafa.

According to the new the statistics on new cases of coronavirus in the Autonomous Administration regions, the number of infections has risen to 6,230, of which 163 died and 888 recovered.
