DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested three members of an ISIS sleeper cell in the town of Baghouz in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
Special military sources told North Press, “The special forces of the SDF raided various places in the town of Baghouz late Friday night.”
The forces were able to arrest three members of an ISIS cell, while a number of others fled.
According to military sources, individual weapons and finished ready-to-detonate devices, which were intended to be used in military operations to destabilize northeastern Syria, were confiscated.
On Monday, the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested three members of an ISIS cell in Deir ez-Zor.
In that operation, a former ISIS leader known as Abu Jihad al-Ansari, who was known to carry out revenge operations on behalf of the terror groups, was arrested.
Al-Ansari had been pursued for some time by the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Global Coalition.
