Two civilians wounded in IED explosion in Turkish-occupied Sere Kaniye, Syria

SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – Two civilians were wounded in IED explosion in the Turkish-occupied Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) on Monday.

A local source told North Press that an IED detonated in al-Jawza roundabout in the city center, wounding two civilians and caused material damage to the surrounding area.

Turkish military forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups took control of the cities of Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad and their surrounding countrysides in October of 2019. Since this time, residents in the region have reported complete security chaos and many human rights abuses, including theft, looting, assault, kidnapping and murder.

In late September, seven people were killed and others wounded in a VBIED explosion targeting a gathering at the southern entrance to Sere Kaniye.
