Internal Security Forces seize toy swords with ISIS inscriptions in Syria’s Roj Camp

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) seized plastic swords from children of ISIS families on Wednesday in Roj camp south Derik, northeast Syria.

Some ISIS wives in the camp told an Iraqi trader, who had a shop in the camp, to bring them plastic swords for their children, a well-informed source told North Press.

The children, who were playing with plastic swords, were spotted on CCTV cameras in the camp, while Asayish followed up on the issue and revealed that the swords were inscribed with phrases related to ISIS, the source added.

The Autonomous Administration transferred batches of ISIS militants’ families from Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah, to Roj Camp in mid-August.

Other members of ISIS families arrived at the camp in September and early October.

The total number of ISIS families in Roj Camp has reached 179, including 564 people of different foreign nationalities, Noura Abdo, the head of Roj Camp, told North Press earlier.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria aims to alleviate the pressure on Hol Camp, and separate new families from the influence of extremists in the migrants’ section.
