IDP shot to death in Azaz, northwestern Syria

AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – A displaced person died on Sunday after being shot in Bab al-Salama camp, east of the city of Azaz, northwestern Syria.

Mansour al-Droubi, an IDP from the city of Aleppo, northern Syria, was killed while trying to resolve a conflict between two families within the camp, a local source told North Press.

“Al-Droubi was taken to the National Hospital in Azaz, but he died.”

The source added that the attacker was able to flee to an unknown location.

In a related context, locals found the body of an unknown man who was shot in the head on Saturday near Akdeh camp in northeastern Azaz.

Azaz has been held by Turkish-backed armed opposition groups since 2012.
