Shelling on Syria’s Ain Issa by Turkish forces and affiliated armed groups

AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and its backed opposition armed groups targeted on Saturday, the countryside of Ain Issa, north of the city of Raqqa, northern Syria amid attempts to reach the M4 Highway.

Turkish forces and Turkish-backed opposition armed groups targeted the populated regions of Khalidiya and Hoshan, a military source of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told North Press.

“An opposition group tried to reach the M4 Highway, but a landmine exploded with their armoured vehicle causing casualties and forcing them to retreat,” the source added.

Turkish forces and their backed opposition groups have been shelling Ain Issa and its villages for days, despite the American-Turkish and Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreements after the Turkish invasion on north and east Syria last year.

On October 21, five civilians were injured, three of them lost their limbs, due to Turkish shelling on the region, medical sources reported.
