Global Coalition and SDF destroy ISIS hideouts in Hasakah, Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the spokesman for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS Col. Wayne Marotto stated that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) destroyed Islamic State (ISIS) hideouts and killed ISIS members in the Hasakah countryside, northern Syria.

Marotto published on his official Twitter account that the SDF “cleared five Daesh dens and took down three terrorist fighters in a series of raids in al-Hasakah” on Sunday night, adding that the Global Coalition continues to stand with the SDF in their fight to dismantle ISIS’s remaining network.

Last Friday, the SDF and Global Coalition launched a joint security operation in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor near the Iraqi border targeting ISIS cells. A North Press correspondent stated that the operation targeted tunnels and smuggling routes ISIS uses to smuggle its members and weapons through Wadi al-Ajaj on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
