Manbij politicians: Decentralization and unity of Syria best solutions to Syrian crisis
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Politicians in the city of Manbij, northern Syria, believe that a political solution has become imperative to end the nine-year Syrian war.
Politicians praised the recent signed agreement between the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) and the People’s Will Party in Moscow.
Azab Aboud, the co-chair of the Future Syria Party in Manbij, said that they welcome the recently signed agreement between the Syrian Democratic Council and the People’s Will Party.
“The dialogue between all the Syrian conflicting parties is the best solution, after the failure of the nine-year military solution,” she added to North Press.
Aboud stressed that adopting the decentralization system, preserving the unity of Syria’s land and people, and ending all foreign interference is the way to the final political solution in the country.
Aboud believes that excluding the communities of northern and eastern Syria from the Syrian Constitutional Committee “will keep the implementation of any agreement difficult.”
Since 2012, a series of meetings on the Syrian crisis’ solution were held in Geneva, Switzerland, under the auspices of the United Nations.
The outstanding differences between the Syrian government and the opposition have prevented the issues up for negotiation from being resolved.
Hazaa Ibrahim, co-chair of the Party of Modernity and Democracy for Syria in Manbij, said that this agreement will be a means for rapprochement for all Syrians.
He added that it will lead to other similar agreements that unify the political vision.
He believes that it would also pave the way for any future negotiations to resolve the Syrian crisis, as Syria will return to be unified and decentralized.
Qadri Jamil, Secretary General of the People’s Will Party, told North Press that they signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Democratic Council because he believes that the conditions of finding a political solution for Syria are now appropriate.
SDC Executive Board co-chair Ilham Ahmed, on behalf of SDC, and Qadri Jamil, on behalf of the People’s Will Party, signed a memorandum of understanding in the Russian capital Moscow at the beginning of September, which included five points dealing with the two parties’ vision of a political solution in the country.
