SDF raids crossings on the Euphrates River in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) raided a number of river crossings on the Euphrates river with the Syrian government-held areas in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor on Thursday.

Local sources told North Press that the SDF forces raided several river crossings in the village of Derinj, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

On the opposite bank of the river sit the headquarters of the Syrian government forces and Iranian militias.

During the raid, mutual shooting took place between the SDF, Syrian government forces, and Iranian factions from the other bank of the Euphrates River.

The SDF confiscated a number of boats and ferries located on the banks of the river.

The Deir ez-Zor Military Council accuses pro- Syrian government and Iranian forces’ cells of crossing into its areas and carrying out bombings and assassinations.
