A Small Kiosk.. the Breadwinner of a Family
A small kiosk at roadside of a breadwinner of a whole family, a job of which he had been doing for years, to return to his homeland after 12 years of emigration.
Abdulmanaf Darwish, 40 year-old, married and has 4 children,known as “Abu Alan” from Al-Salihiya neighborhood, he is the owner of the small kiosk opened in Al-Atfaya square in Hasakah city 11 years ago to prepare hot drinks with different flavor, which was the reason behind his being famous, despite of the simple possibilities.

“I worked in Lebanon for 12 years as kebab cook in a restaurant, and I also worked on Xpress coffee machines. During my working period there, I learned a lot of the secrets of that career, like making drinks that have a delicious flavor and differ from the usual ones,” Darwish said.
However, at the beginning, he was moving his small kiosk on a small car inside and outside the neighborhoods of the city, to distribute hot drinks. Later, Abu Alan put the kiosk at a roadside, and even planted dozens of trees around it, placed small tables and chairs to create a beautiful place that attracted the residents of the city.
Drinks
Perhaps the “Cyprus” mixture, of which Abu Alan mixes a number of materials with each other to give a delicious flavor people used to it, in addition to tea, coffee and Nescafe mixed with cardamom, hot chocolate with milk were served at the kiosk.
Furthermore, different neighborhoods in Hasakah and its markets are crowded before and after breakfast time in Ramadan where the residents are used to go to parks and cafes, and the turnout for hot and cold drinks increases at Abu Alan kiosk
