Turkey: We Attach Importance to the Gulf Security

“Ankara is following, with concern, the news of the sabotage against commercial vessels in the Gulf of Oman on May 12,” Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said.

“On this occasion, Turkey would like to reiterate the importance it attaches to the security of the Gulf region and the safety of its maritime navigation,” he said earlier today in a press statement.

The Turkish spokesman said: “We condemn the attack by aircrafts of ” Ansar Allah “(Houthis) movement, which targeted two pumping stations pipeline for transferring oil in the port of Yanbu on May 14.”

Furthermore, Aksoy called on to “avoid any provocative step could harm the security and stability of the region.”

Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, announced that two stations for transporting oil from the fields of the eastern region to the port of Yanbu in the western coast, were attacked by the aircrafts “Drone”.

The UAE foreign ministry said in a statement that four commercial vessels of several nationalities were sabotaged near the territorial waters towards the port of Fujairah on the east coast of the UAE (70 nautical miles from the Strait of Hormuz).
