Demonstration in Iraq Against the Bias to the Parties of Dispute
Hundreds of Iraqis demonstrated on Friday in Tahrir Square in the center of Baghdad to demand Iraq not be biased to one side of Iran-US dispute.
The demonstration came upon a call from  the Shiite cleric and leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, Muqtada al-Sadr.
The demonstrators held banners reading  “No  War”  and shouted  messages in Arabic, English and Persian to the Government of Iraq, Iran and America.
Sayed Ibrahim, one of the organizers of the demonstration, told North Press that they demand Iraq  to be distanced from the looming war between Iran and America.
Ibrahim called on the Iraqi government to maintain the sovereignty of Iraq ,  stand against any interference and defuse the tensions between Iran and America.
The civil current “Mostameron” has appealed to the Iraqi government and all Iraqi politicians to be neutral and “not to be drawn into a conflict that threatens the security of Iraq and the safety of our people.”
The current demanded demonstrations coincide with the demands of the demonstration that the Sadrist movement called on.
