Iraqi Ministry of Migration denies the transfer of ISIS families from al-Hawl into Nineveh

The Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displaced has denied the authenticity of the information provided by an MP of the province of Nineveh in a statement about the moving of Islamic State families from Al-Hawl camp in Syria into 4 camps in Iraq’s Nineveh governorate, in the coming hours.

Undersecretary of the Ministry, Jassim Al-Attiyah said: “The statement by one of the MPs on the completion of the procedures for moving ISIS families from the Syrian camp to the camps in southern Mosul is not true at all, as no information on this subject have been reported to us by the government agencies and security services ” .

Mr. Jassim continued: “If there is a transfer of families, it will be subjected to the scrutiny of the security services to sort out ISIS families from other families inside the camp”.

Jassim Al-Attiyah, undersecretary of the Ministry added: “While we are surprised by these reports by the MP, we reiterate that the security and stability of Iraq are of most important than other considerations, and our ministry has devoted its efforts over the past years to the relief of millions of IDPs who left their regions escaping terrorist acts of ISIS militants, therefore, as ministry dealing with issues of humanitarian aspects, we are following with keen interest all the details of the IDPs in camps and categories of our concern, the information provided by the MP, we think they’re inaccurate”.
