The head of the Russian-Arab Cultural Center in Saint Petersburg, Dr. Muslim Shito, said on Tuesday that Israel's actions in Syria have become a factor that is causing controversy and disgust in the Russian capital, Moscow.

Dr. Shito explained in an interview with North-Press that the leaking news of the Israeli Mossad intelligence Agency that the danger of Iran has receded in the short term due to the coronavirus pandemic is a message from Tel Aviv to Moscow rather than to Iran.

This comes after Russian political circles expressed their anger at the recent Israeli bombing against al-Shayrat Airbase in Homs, especially as it coincided with the spread of the coronavirus epidemic that was affecting Israel more than Syria, according to Shito.

He considered that this Russian stance began to be heard in some Israeli circles, especially after the fighting in the north of Syria and with the terrorist groups subsided as a result of the world's preoccupation with the coronavirus epidemic.

He continued, "It seems that Israel cannot continue the transgressions in Syria and has resorted to the media outlets that reduce the danger of Iran at this stage, as if Iran after the coronavirus epidemic has become weak in a manner, reassuring Israel."

Dr. Shito said; "However, this does not mean that Israel will stop its strikes in Syria, even Moscow does not believe this scenario, and rather they think that Tel Aviv will continue its raids in Syria, taking advantage of any opportunity and justification for the bombing, regardless of whether it will retreat at that time."

He added that the Foreign Minister of Lebanon spoke to the five permanent countries of the Security Council about the immoral and inhumane behavior of Israel in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Shito explained that Israel cannot withstand all political and media pressure at a time when all of humanity is preoccupied with the epidemic and Israel is one of the countries threatened by the virus.
