On Monday, former Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said that Iran had begun withdrawing its forces from Syria during a handover ceremony for the Israeli Ministry of Defense to his successor Benny Gantz, according to what was reported by the website Monte Carlo.
The former minister added that Iran had started a withdrawal operation from Syria, “but if we reduce our pressure for even one moment, everything may stop.”
The Iranian-controlled areas of eastern Syria are witnessing frequent Israeli bombing, and Bennett called on his successor to complete the mission.
Last Tuesday, Israeli outlet Jerusalem Post published that the militant groups affiliated with Iran are not withdrawing from Syria, but are changing their locations.
