Turkish aircraft targets ambulances and medical crews in Libya

Turkish airstrikes targeted ambulances and medical crews in Libya, in conjunction with the Turkish intervention that supports the Government of National Accord (which controls the capital, Tripoli) and its militias, combating the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

A statement by the Western Region Operations Group revealed the details of Turkey's targeting of medical crews, injured, and ambulances around the operations area, which is witnessing intensive bombing by Turkish aircraft during its operations to take over areas under the control of the LNA.

The Wounded Affairs Legion of the Western Region Operations Group said, "While we bless the victories of our Libyan Arab armed forces (LNA) in their war against terrorism and its advances in all Tripoli, we value the bloodshed in defense of land and honor of the pure martyrs in "Jihad" battles for the liberation of Libya from militias and mercenaries, and to curb Erdogan's ambitions in occupying our dear homeland."

"At the same time, we strongly condemn the Turkish aggression on ambulances, which are killing paramedics and the injured moving on the road,” it continued.

The legion denounced the silence of the international community, human rights organizations, and local human rights associations regarding these “cowardly crimes that are irrelevant to human norms, laws, and morals."

It wondered about the fate of international humanitarian law regarding these crimes, especially as the United Nations and its charters condemn attacks on humanitarians who seek to save human lives.

In light of the LNA’s ongoing accusations that the Turks target, besiege, and threaten civilians in order to succeed in military operations carried out by the militias it supports, these operations harm civilians in Libya due to Turkish bombing.

Many Libyan neighborhoods were completely non-functional or partially damaged due to Turkish air strikes.
