The escalation resumed in the de-escalation zones of combat operations in north-west Syria, following relative calm during last night in the governorates of Idlib, Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia.
North-Press observed air raids by the Russian and Syrian Air Forces targeted the outskirts of the cities of Maarat al-Numan, Kansafra, Khan al-Subul, Blion, Naqir, and Ihsem, as well as the areas of Al-Jabeen and Tal-Malah in the northern countryside of Hama.
While the Syrian helicopters hit the area of Kafr-Sajnah, southern Idlib with barrels bombs, the Syrian government forces also targeted the towns of Latamnah and Kafr-Zita northern Hama, and Qledeen, al-Ankawi, and al-Zuqum in al-Ghab plain north-west Hama.
At least 4 people were killed, including two children, and more than 12 others were injured with varying degrees of severity amid ongoing heavy bombardment.
While according to field sources told North-Press that the range of Syrian and Russian airstrikes is approaching the northern parts of the province of Idlib, amid fears over the lives of hundreds of thousands of IDPs who take the area as a shelter near the Syrian-Turkish borders.
Panos Moumtzis, the Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the Syria Crisis, expressed that he’s “Outraged by the ongoing violence” in north-west Syria, stressing on the commitment of civilians’ protection by conflicting parties in Syria, and to abide by “The principles of distinction and proportionality enshrined in the international humanitarian law.”
