The correspondent of North-Press in the city of Sare Kani/Ras Al-Ayn northeast of Syria reported that a US patrol of the Global Coalition, composed of two armored vehicles is touring the city and its western countryside.
The correspondent pointed out that the patrol flying US flags, and has a number of soldiers, toured the border areas with Turkey, in an attempt seems to aim at reassuring the citizens of the city.
He explained that the patrol left at 11 o’clock from the observation post in the village of Tal Arqam, 5 km west of Sare Kani, and headed to Tal Halaf town and then to Sare Kani, as two soldiers stepped out of the vehicle in (al-Bareed) square and took a short tour in al-Bareed Street.
It is noteworthy that a number of Turkish leaders have recently launched threats on the intention of their country to invade areas east of the Euphrates.
Earlier,James Jeffrey, the U.S. special envoy to Syria, held a round of talks a few days ago with Turkish officials on the “safe zone” in north and eastern Syria, but observers said that the talks failed to produce any results.
Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister, told reporters after the held talks, that the US proposals on the “safe zone” do not meet Turkish conditions.
