Turkish armed forces have sent new military reinforcements to Suruj district in the southern state of Shanli, as Anatolia News Agency reported.
Turkey has repeatedly pointed to a military operation against north and eastern Syria (Autonomous Administration) in the eastern Euphrates region, after Yurkey took over the city of Afrin, west of the north-western Aleppo countryside through the operationof Olive Branch, which ended in March 2018.
Nevertheless, Washington has warned Ankara of the consequences of an attack on Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) held areas.
Moreover, the Turkish agency confirmed that “the reinforcements included military vehicles and armor carriers of elite forces coming from different regions of Turkey to support the military units on the Syrian border.”
The agency said that “the military reinforcements consisting of (8) vehicles went to the district of Suruj, in Shanliurfa state, accompanied by groups of gendarmes and Turkish police.”
Commenting on these developments, the commander-in-chief of SDF, Mazloum Abdi, said that his forces does not want war.
However, Abdi said that his forces would not allow the repetition of what happened in Afrin, and threatened that any Turkish attack would lead to a great war.
