The Syrian government expanding scope of attacks to the eastern countryside of Latakia

The Syrian government helicopters launched dozens of raids with explosive barrels in the early hours of Eid al-Adha on the hills of the strategic village of Kabanah, northeast of Latakia, as North-Press correspondent reported.
Furthermore, Syrian fighter jets bombed the village of Kabanah and its surroundings with more than 20 missiles without any information about human casualties or material damage.
During the past few days, the axes and fronts of Kabanah village have witnessed intensive attempts of advancing, as they were failed, amid aerial and ground bombardments.
Moreover, the shelling coincided with Syrian government forces taking control over the strategic town of al-Habeet in Idlib, after the resumption of clashes, achieving a military advance which was considered as the most important since the beginning of the military campaign three months ago.
The ceasefire in Idlib, which was approved last week at Astana Talks, lasted only for three days, after which Russian-backed government forces resumed their military operations in the governorate of Idlib.
The Syrian government forces try to re-establish control over Idlib governorate since the end of last April, while the opposition militants are still stationed in the northwest enclave of the country, which includes most of the governorate of Idlib, parts of Aleppo, Hama, and Latakia governorates.
In the recent days, the Syrian government forces have intensified their offensive on Idlib and the northern parts of Hama governorate, under the cover of airstrikes and artillery shelling.
