Syrian government forces control a strategic town along with several areas in Idlib

The Syrian government forces managed to achieve a new military advance in the southern countryside of Idlib, in coincide with the ongoing displacement movements from the region, in addition to fighting and targeting operations on other axes within the de-escalation zone in the northwest of the country.
Syrian army’s control over the strategic town of al-Tamanah has followed Syrian government forces’ control over the areas of al-Khwain, Sakiyat, al-Tamanah farms and Tal Aghbar, nearby Damascus-Aleppo International Highway.
While Syrian government forces continue their efforts to achieve further advancement in the region to control larger areas around Aleppo-Damascus International Highway.
Moreover, intense shelling and advances were accompanied by massive displacement of more than 15,000 people from different areas of Idlib countryside to different bordering areas in northern Syria.
Meanwhile, the Russian fighter jets targeted al-Tah area in the southern countryside of Idlib, coinciding with clashes between Syrian government forces and armed opposition groups which took place on al-Qasabiya axis in southwestern countryside of Idlib, amid targeting operations of the Syrian army’s positions by the National Liberation Front in Jabal Shahshabo.
This advancement was accompanied by dozens of airstrikes that hit different parts of Idlib governorate, causing further destruction of infrastructure, while clashes were accompanied by explosions caused the death and injury of dozens of members of both sides.
Furthermore, this advance comes less than 48 hours after an attack launched by the armed opposition groups in the south-eastern axis of Idlib governorate, which caused dozens of deaths and injuries in their ranks as well as the ranks of the Syrian government forces, accompanied by two explosions conducted by two suicide bombers.
According to the United Nations, more than 550 people have been killed, 400,000 have been displaced and many others have been homeless. About half of the IDPs have been living under trees or in the open air, outside camps and reception centers since the beginning of the current military operations in April of this year.
