The assassination operations continue in Daraa governorate in southern Syria, carried out by unknown gunmen targeting members of the Syrian government forces or former armed opposition leaders and militants, civilians and members of the reconciliation committees in the region.
In the recent hours, members of the Syrian army were assassinated in the western Daraa countryside by machine-guns stationed in the village of Jillen.
The village of Jillen was under the control of the Islamic State’s affiliate militia (Khalid bin Walid army) in 2016, before the Syrian government forces regained control over the area and the entire Daraa governorate.
At least 3 members of the Syrian government forces were killed, while the area witnesses a security mobilization in an attempt to search for the perpetrators.
It’s noteworthy that the scope of the assassinations and killings in southern Syria has recently increased.
After the recent events in the region, there is a mounting fears among the local population that ISIS would return to the areas which it had previously controlled, before they were expelled from from Daraa governorate.
The death toll of the assassination operations has risen to 5 members during the last 48 hours in Daraa governorate, one of them was accused of collaborating with forces allied to the Syrian army in the town of Nabea al-Fawar, while another one was a member of the 4th Armoured Division in the town of Yadouda.
