Lt. Col. Earl Brown, the Central Command Chief of Media Operations told North-Press that the operations in northwestern Syria where al-Qaeda group is taking refuge in some areas would continue in cooperation with the U.S. allies and partners.
The U.S. Central Command said in a statement: “The attack targeted leaders of al-Qaeda, who are responsible for attacks threatening U.S. citizens, our partners and innocent civilians”.
“The operations will continue until they will be permanently removed, the removal of this facility will further degrade their ability to conduct future attacks and destabilize the region”, Brown added.
“We will continue to target the extremists to prevent them from using Syria as a safe haven,” he said.
On Saturday, the Pentagon’s Central Command announced that the U.S attack targeted leaders of al-Qaeda in northern Idlib.
The Global Coalition fighter jets also targeted by long-range missiles military headquarters affiliated with Ansar al-Tawhid, south of Idlib, which the United States has classified as a global terrorist organization.
