Israel has uncovered an Iranian military location inside the Syrian territories near the Iraqi borders, within the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) operations of previous disclosing of military secrets.

According to Asharq al-Awsat Newspaper, the revelation came through a news leak to the U.S. news network Fox News in which it talked about an Iranian military location where precision-guided missiles are stored against Israel.

The purpose of the revelations was to convey a clear message that Israel would destroy Hezbollah’s missile system if it did not abandon the idea of manufacturing and developing precision-guided missiles, and evacuating its exposed positions.

In 2017, the Iranian forces participated in the military operation to take control over al-Bukamal and west of the Euphrates River, led by Qods Force commander Major General Qassem Soleimani.

This control enabled it to open Tehran-Beirut route, passing through Iraq and Syria, while the US-led Global Coalition forces sought to block the route by establishing al-Tanf base in an attempt to prevent the transfer of the Iranian missiles to Hezbollah along this route.

The disclosures coincide with the intention of the Syrian and Iraqi governments to reopen Albukamal-AlQaim border-crossing, which is rescheduled to open on September 10, after it was scheduled to open on 7 September.

Sources and experts in Tel Aviv indicated that the Israeli side leaked images of possible locations of Iranian missile factories and bases in both Iraq and Lebanon, which aimed at pressuring, and potentially preparing to target them.

A source close to the Israeli prime minister said that the precision-guided missiles that the IDF had uncovered in Lebanon’s al-Bekaa Valley were directed at Haifa Bay area in northern Israel, which includes oil and chemical refineries and ammonia stores.

IDF targeted Hezbollah and destroyed the two discovered sites in al-Bekaa and on the Syrian-Iraqi borders, and showed the extent of its intelligence penetration on Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, the IDF spokesman announced that Hezbollah has assembled complexes to produce engines and warheads for missiles with a precision targeting up to 10 meters near the town of al-Nabi Shaith on the Syrian-Lebanese borders.

The spokesman claimed that Hezbollah has evacuated the sites when it felt that the Israelis had uncovered them, as expensive equipment had been transferred to civilian properties in Lebanon and to the capital Beirut.

He also pointed out that in order to produce missiles; Iran is supplying special machinery and guidance for production workers, while accompanying the operations at the site permanently.
