National Army: our hostility is only with the Democratic Union Party

A leader of the Turkey-backed National Army said that the talks about the results of the US-Turkish patrols on the Syrian-Turkish borders, the hostility with the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the message of the opposition leader “Mustafa Seijari” to the Kurds in the region, is still early.

The spokesman of the National Army (composed of many Turkey-backed opposition Islamist militias, based in Turkey-controlled areas in northern Syria), Yusuf al-Hamoud told North-Press that “the talk is still early” about an alliance between the groups of the National Army and the Kurds in northern Syria, supported by a US-Turkish coalition to stop the Syrian government’s dream and confront Russia and Iran.

He explained the reason that “the path is the path of the US-Turkish negotiations in the region, and it must be supervised whether it will be a successful test in this area or not, in terms of the implementation of the security mechanism or there will be a skirting of the resolution”.
Hammoud believes that Mustafa Seijari talked about Kurdish civilians in particular, and didn’t talk about the Democratic Union Party (PYD) nor the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Spokesman added that, the National Army has no orientation in northern Syria regions, but “our hostility is for the PYD, amid preserving the components present in the region, and the return of internally and externally displaced people, and those are the most important items of the battle, the return of the community components and the end of arbitrary measures against the people of the region”.

He noted that the files in Syria “are conflicting and all countries are going according to their interests”, pointing out that the goals of the countries in Syria, and their objectives of using the Syrian issue in the far extent must be recognized.

While he talked to North-Press that they don’t feel the existence of any US-Russian difference, but showed a sense of “great rapprochement between the two countries, especially in Syria”. He noted that the bilateral meetings between them resulted in the release of Russia’s hand in the region by the US before Astana Meeting.

He confirmed that Russia has fully released Iran’s hand in the city of Aleppo and its countryside, and that the battles taking place in Idlib after the truce are all through “Iranian militias” and Syrian government forces with Russian air support.

“These files are all conflicting, but the countries will either return to their old alliances or generate new alliances in the region, which will reflect on the internal situation in Syria and the military scene”, he said.
He concluded by saying: “We are waiting for the results of the U.S. patrols, and it is too early to talk about, the establishment of the Joint Operations Center between the U.S. and Turkey was one of the results of the negotiations, but we want to see if the results are at the level of the ambitions”.

The leader of Turkey-backed armed opposition, Mustafa Seijari stated in a tweet that “If our forces in northern Syria are united with the Kurdish brothers, and we benefited from our U.S. and Turkish allies, then we will eliminate Assad regime and his dream of survival”.

Seijari sees this alliance as an opportunity to “expel both Russia and Iran”, and to begin what he called “great Syria”.

He stressed in his tweet that their hand “is outstretched towards the Kurdish brothers in the east of the Euphrates”, saying that “the Syrian national interest is above all”, noting that the external parties will agree tomorrow while the internal hatred will remain.
