The Turkish-backed opposition groups shell a village in Afrin

On Saturday early morning hours, areas in southern Afrin countryside witnessed shelling by the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, causing further damage and losses.
The Syrian armed opposition groups affiliated with Turkey have targeted the village of Burj al-Qas of Sherawa district in northern region of Afrin with several artillery and rocket-propelled grenades.
According to local sources told North-Press, the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups launched three shells on the outskirts of the village at 4 a.m. on Saturday, where damage was limited o the material, without causing any casualties.
The village of Burj al-Qas in Sherawa district of Afrin region, which Turkey and its affiliated armed groups were unable to control, has been subjected to almost daily shelling and bombardment.
On 5 August, a resident was killed and another was injured by the Turkish and the armed opposition groups shelling on the village.
On March 18 last year, Turkey and its affiliated armed opposition groups took control of Afrin region after two months of fierce fighting with the People’s Protection Units (YPG) without managing of imposing control over some villages in Shirawa district in southern Afrin countryside.
